Northern Virginia Homeschool Conference
This regional event will provide valuable resources and information for Northern Virginia families who are seeking better options to educate their children. Local experts will lead interactive workshops on topics such as Getting Started in Homeschooling, Math is Awesome, Reading and Writing, and Special Needs Homeschooling. The conference will also feature a Teen Panel who will share their firsthand experience and insights about homeschooling, and vendor tables will offer free books and resources. “People choose to homeschool for many reasons, and the benefits for children and their parents can be truly remarkable,” said IndED President Butch Porter. “The Northern Virginia Homeschool Conference will provide a great forum for parents, regional experts and students to talk about creating a fun, interactive environment for independent education,” said IndED President, Butch Porter. About IndED IndED is an independent education organization that offers innovative homeschool courses through its Microschool program, in addition to afterschool activities for children ages 8 and older. We help parents achieve their homeschooling goals with a dedicated mentor and a Personalized Learning Plan for each student. IndED’s Microschool program offers interactive learning opportunities in civics, science and the arts through labs, small class sizes, guest speakers and field trips. Our mission is to give all students an independent path to life-long learning as productive citizens, leaders and thinkers. We believe that "cultivation of the mind is as necessary as food to the body."
